The One That Got Away: A Repost

In your life, you’ll make note of a lot of people. Ones with whom you shared something special and ones who will always mean something. There’s the one you first kissed, the one you first loved, the one you lost your virginity to, the one you put on a pedestal, the one you’re with…and the one that got away.

Who is the one that got away? I guess it’s that person with whom everything was great, everything was perfect, but the timing was just wrong. There was no fault in the person nor flaw in the chemistry, but the cards just didn’t fall the right way, I suppose.

I believe in the fact that ending up with someone, finding a longtime partner that is, does not lie merely in the other person. I can actually argue that an equal part, or maybe even the greater part, has to do with the matter of timing. It has to do with you being ready to settle down and commit to someone in a way that goes beyond the little niceties of giddy romance.

How often have you gone through it without even realizing it? When you’re not ready to commit in that mature manner, it doesn’t matter who you’re with, it just doesn’t work. Small problems become big; inconsequential become deal breakers simply because you’re not ready and it shows. It’s not that you and the person you’re with are no good; it’s just that it’s not yet right, and little things become the flashpoint of that fact.

Then one day you’re ready. You really are. And when this happens you’ll be ready to settle down with someone. He or she may not be the most perfect, they might not be the brightest star of romance to ever have burned in your life, but it’ll work because you’re ready. It’ll work because it’s the right time and you’ll make it work. And it’ll make sense, it really will.

So that day comes when you’re finally making sense of things, and you find yourself to be a different person. Things are different, your approach is different, you finally understand who you are and what you want and you’ve become ready because the time has truly arrived. And mind you, there’s no telling when this day will come. Hopefully, you’re single or be in a long-term relationship, or be married with three kids…it doesn’t matter. All you know is that you have changed. And for some reason, the one that got away, is the first person you think about.

You’ll think about them because you’ll wonder, “What if they were here today?” , “What if we were together now, with me as I am and not as I was?” .The one that got away is– the biggest “What if?” you’ll have in your life.

If you’re married, you’ll just have to accept the fact that the one that got away, got away. Believe me, no matter how fairy tale you think your marriage is, this can happen to the best of us. But hopefully you’re mature enough to realize that you’re already with the one you’re with and this is just another test of your commitment, one which will just strengthen your marriage when you get past it. Sure, you’ll think about him/her every so often, but it’s alright. It’s never nice to live with a “might have been,” but it happens.

Maybe the one that got away is the one who’s already married. In which case it’s the same thing. You just have to accept and know that your memories of that person will probably bring a nice little smile to your lips in the future when you’re old and gray and reminiscing.

But if neither of that is the case, then it’s different. What do you do if it’s not yet too late? Simple –find him or find her. The very existence of a “one that got away” means that you’ll always wonder…what if you got that one? Ask him out to coffee. Ask her out to a movie. It doesn’t matter if you’ve dropped in from out of nowhere. You’d be surprised, you just might be “the one that got away” as well for the person who is your “the one that got away.” You might drop in from out of nowhere and it won’t make a difference. If the timing is finally right, it’ll all just fall into place somehow. It would be a great feeling in the end, to be able to say to someone, “Hey you, you’re the one that almost got away.”

3rd Year 1st Sem

First sem of my 3rd year in college just ended. I find it still light and easy. Lol because I was still able to handle and solve the school stuffs and problems that I needed to take care so I can get through with this stage. Some of my subjects this semester are the subjects that I don't like such as Physics, Philippine Literature Accounting for Non Accountants and Discrete Math because of numbers and the rest are the major subjects of mine which includes Multimedia, File Organization, Prinos, and the only minor subject that I love, Speech Communication 3. Hehehe I would just like to say this to the following teachers in each subject.

Sir Cole

As our teacher in Physics 2 I find you really funny in every time you give your lecture for each day of our meeting. I like the way you handle your students with your strictness and even with your foolishness. I admit I didn't like you at first because we find you very terror but as months passed that impression vanished and was changed into adoration. Because we were honored to have you as our teacher in that subject and it's only in our section that you are not hot tempered unlike that in the other section Hehe. We learned a lot from you in that subject though I only gave an average amount of effort to it.

In both of my subjects that you handled I admit I really hate numbers but it is in your discussion that I find understanding and appreciation for it. I am just sorry for getting low grades in each examination because due to some reasons I can't do many things at a time and someday I know someday I'll find the courage to do this words that you always keep on repeating in both Physics and Discrete class "READ and UNDERSTAND".

Mam Vanessa

Our preggy "libog" teacher hehe. Hi mam! thanks for the grades and friendship in Facebook haha. Among all the teachers this semester, you are the most appealing teacher for us *cheering *clap! *clap though you turned fatter because of your pregnancy hehe you are still sexy in the eyes of our boys in the class. Haha You are at first a very frustrating instructress haha because you tend to change your mind so quick that we don't know if you are just teasing us or if you are really serious with every decision that you release because you are so repressive. And you are so moody! we are sometimes confuse of your attitude. But so far you are the only teacher who made us write the numbers from 1-500 in our booklets, before giving the questions of the final examination. And have made us memorize pages of definitions for each topic per term. Imagine!? Haha but I still thank you because you were able to give us the challenges to pass in your subject. Wohooo.

Sir Ping

To you our File Org and Prinos teacher I always salute you for the efforts to your sideline. Lol. I idolize you for being able to find humorous jokes to cheer up your students while you are giving a 40-70 slides lecture per meeting in your subjects, despite the boredom that you see from us, you can still understand us, that to think you do a talk non-stop talk from your previous class up to our class but you can still manage your patienece. And you only eat biscuits during your break time with water. Hahaha. Though we only get to see you during classes you still allow us to have a contact on you (kaya pag tinetext ka napupunta ka kaagad timing naman at wala kang lakad ahahaha)

Sir James

We only meet on Mondays but sad to say there are a lot of holidays in each month that is hitting our schedule on your class. I know I was not that attentive anymore to our class starting on prefinals and up to finals. But I want you to know that I still learned more things from your lectures, that I was able to use in my passion "to be". Thank you for answering everything that I asked you about Photoshop because it was able to give me additional knowledge. Keep working Sir! Lol

Sir Winjay

I thank you for giving us the kind of lecture that we've been longing to have. We thought you'd not be able to deliver your discussions so well. But unexpectedly, despite the mispronunciation of words hehe you are still able to provide us the learning that we ought to have. You marked me NFE but I'll see you on Tuesday for the defense of our system ;)

Mam Accounting

I admire you for the patience you have given to the class and for the way of teaching you've done to make us understand the basics of accounting because I know its hard to teach and let students understand and appreciate accounting especially if it's not really their interest to learn about it. Like me, at first I thought I won't understand anything about accounting because of numbers, but eventually because of you I was able to comprehend. And was eventually became attentive in listening to you. I love Journalizing. Lol

Mam Teresa

I wont deny that I really hated you for the way you handle our Philippine Literature class. But when I forced myself to understand you because of the subject that you handle I know what you really feel for handling it because Phil Lit is pure stories, pebbles, myths and etc so you have nothing else to do but read and ask us about it. And if your students are not that attentive I believe that you should look for other alternatives to get our attention but even if you didn't, as your students of course we respect every teacher's strategy in monitoring the class. To you Mam, I wanna ask sorry for everything that had caused you pain and insult. I accept that I have sinned. And thank you for staying what you are, as a teacher, until the end of the semester.

To all of you, my teachers,I know that you all deserve each student's respect. Bow! See you next semester except to Mam Van :D

Once Again....

Glossy Black Button Icon

Yehey! I'm so happy that now I already know how to make icons like this because before I was wonderin' if buttons/icons like this can also be done in Photoshop. And now I already know the ways to come up with this kind of output. Through the same tutorial site, I am able to accomplish this one.

In this case you only have to make use more of the blending options. Hehe. I don't know if I can recall all that I have learned in this tutorial but all I can say is that I already know the other uses of the other tools of Photoshop, and that tutorials in the web was able to help me a lot for learning this new things I've known.

Hope that you can also learn new things from that site because I just did!

Online Tutorial Learning

For how many times that I'm just passing by in that site, it's only today that I decided to try doing some of their tutorials. The first one is a picture of a "Text Effect" it is supposed to be a "Grungy Text Effect" but since I wasn't able to download patterns and textures for it to have an outcome like there in the tutorial it's the only output I got for what I did. The second picture is a tutorial on "How to Create a Rain Scene" which I think I didn't also get the same output. (Basta my rain scene yan na. Lol)

Rain Scene

This two are the first works I've done after following the tutorial from this site

Follow the link and you can do works like this!
